The Way Brands Attract Consumers through ADVERTISEMENTS

Hello there! Today I feel like I wanted to post some of my comments and maybe some comments that will be from others about some unique advertisements out there, there are many advertisements out there that attract consumers through their advertisements strategy or method, like posters, as the technology of design and communication is increasing day by day, people is more and more creative in speaking through pictures, that is why in this blog entry, I want to discuss about it, I will discuss about the language and how they communicate with their consumers through medium (poster). Here, in this blog entry I will comment a little bit about some advertisements that I think are so interesting and I think it is the way the brand attract consumers and also speak to the consumer. I will include the pictures of some advertisements that I want to comment on. Note that all of the advertisements pictures are not mine, and credits go to the owners. Check these advertisements out, join me in commenting these advertisements, your various comments will be appreciated!

This is one of the famous tomato ketchup brands, Heinz. Heinz promote the ketchup through posters, this advertisement speaks to its target consumers, its cute yet interesting and creative. It don’t take complicated design and pictures, also don’t have description about the product, but it directly shows through the picture that it is made of pure tomato, so people will directly understand since the concept is simple, since the bottle in the ad is made of sliced tomato forming the bottle. It have the slogan “No one grows Ketchup like Heinz”, it also makes the consumer sure about buying the product since it is made of pure tomatoes, by seeing it once, without thinking the consumer will know the meaning of it, it’s like Heinz communicate to their consumer through catchy ad and slogans, through the picture and that slogan, it is clearly showed that Heinz is made of pure tomatoes, the people looking at the ad directly know about it without further thinking, the ad is directly recognized.

This is one of McDonalds coffee ad, there are actually several pictures that are similar to this one, different toy worker but the same concept, but I pick this one, to be honest, because it looks cuter, I found this ad cute because it looks like a toy, this ad is a simple but creative ad, it have the picture of the product in the bottom right corner, and the slogan “Wake up with a premium roast coffee”, the slogan directly match the product, it means that by drinking McDonalds coffee, the workers or people that drink it will be awake directly, the picture also match the product, since the picture is a toy worker, that hangs his head down, and since the ad is promoting coffee.

This is the ad of L’OREAL, it is a cosmetic brand, the product that is promoted in this ad is its lipstick, the poster here explains a little about the product, and some words like “Discover the hold of a longwear in the luxury of a lipstick”, the slogan is “Feel it, wear it, love it”, it is said by a famous artist, Gwen Stefani, she’s also the model for the product in the ad, the ad is also simple, but attracting, because of the model’s face with the right make up and hair that make the lipstick stands out, and looks good on her. The people looking at this will directly said that the artist looks attractive and mysterious wearing that lipstick and her style also supports it.

This is the ad of Seiko alarm clock, this picture is very simple, the picture of a person hand almost touching a cactus plant, when I see this ad on the internet, I find this funny yet simple, I directly know the meaning behind this, the cactus plays a role of the alarm clock, and by touching it, the person will instantly awake, I think it is the meaning behind Seiko’s alarm clock, with that alarm clock, the person will instantly awake. It directly speaks with the consumer, telling them about the positive side of the product.

This is the ad of Volkswagen, in this ad, it is shown that a boy is dragging a very huge teddy bear that I think he’s going to put it inside the car’s trunk, since it is open. There’s a slogan “New Caddy Maxi Life, infinitely bigger”, it speaks to the consumer that the car’s trunk is infinitely bigger and until the huge teddy bear that is hardly possible to fit inside the car’s trunk can fit in it. There’s also a reason I choose to comment on this ad, beside I found this ad interesting, I adore the big teddy bear the kid is dragging, because it’s so cute. Back with the ad, there’s the logo of the brand in the bottom right and it’s slogan “for the love of automobiles”

That’s all 5 of interesting advertisements that I’ve found from Internet, sometimes, I will add some more interesting advertisements that I found. You can comment about these ads in the comment section below. Once again, please note that these pictures are not mine, so credits goes to the owners. Stay tune for my next blog entry!
